Born in Bari, Italy in 1939, Pino Daeni began his studies at Italy's Art Institute. In 1960 Pino entered Milan's Academy of Brera where he perfected his gifted talent and skill for painting nudes. In the two years he studied at the Academy, the artist came under the influence of the Pre-Raphaelites, Sorolla, Sargent and Macchiaioli. Also during his stay in Milan, Pino experimented with Expressionism of the late sixties. From 1960 to 1979 Pino's work appeared in several major exhibitions throughout Italy and Europe. Before leaving Milan, Pino was commissioned by Italy's two largest publishers, Mondadori and RizzolI.In 1992 May Gallery became the first gallery to represent Pino when he sent us five paintings which were well received. We continued our relationship and represented him for well over a decade.Pino passed away on May 25, 2010. He was an immense talent who will be greatly missed.
May Gallery is fortunate to have these rare Pino original oil paintings to resale. At this time we have just a few left, so don't miss this opportunity. These paintings were originally sold by us to clients who are now in the process of downsizing. Acquisition price at this time is slightly below market value.
