Ivana Vratna
Bohemian artist, Ivana Vratna is as passionate about her paintings as she is about life and her family. She finds it hard to be away from her brushes and paints for very long. The inspiration of her painting has come from the 17th and 18th Century Dutch and Flemish painters, such as JD de Heem, Jan van Huysum, and Pieter de Ring.
Her work is certainly outstanding in every aspect down to the smallest detail. Be it an ant or a drop of water, each brush stroke is lovingly and enthusiastically applied. Ivana will take weeks working on a painting; time must be given to achieve the rendered perfection. The paintings are exceptional in every detail.
Ivana attended the Umeleckoprumyslova in the Czech Republic from 1973-1976. The school focused on developing artists, from 1976-1980. She studied at the University of Applied Art, in the atelier of Professor M. Hegara. The Velvet Revolution in 1989 was an opening up for the artists who had been confined within their repressed country for so many years. Since 1989, Ivana's work has been exhibited in Europe, Japan, Canada, Australia, and the United States.
