February 4-10
New Contemporary Works 3 Artist Presentation, featuring Robin Branham, Bruce Marion, and Michael Ethridge
Robin is a mixed media artist.
Her work delights the viewer with abstract shapes that move through
space in an exciting myriad of color. Her technique involves the
application of multiple layers of acrylic paint to the canvas from
which she fashions abstract shapes and various textures to create
form and composition. Many layers of paint are scraped, cut, shaped
and sanded to make each piece unique in its own special way.
Bruce Marion sets out to explore
a journey, translating the landscapes of personal growth into color
and canvas. His abstracts reflect the circular nature of much of
man’s quest for understanding, and the delicate balance of one’s
relationships. Every point on the path is an equally important part
of the journey. Whether we think of it as a good or bad experience,
it's all leading us to our destination.”
Michael Ethridge is now
realizing his destiny as one of the country’s most sought-after
abstract expressionists. His history, education, background and
drive as an artist have culminated to help him reach the position he
has envisioned for years.

February 25-March 3
Southwestern Art at its best from Lisa Danielle and Carol Hamilton
Living and painting in her ranch house
studio in northern Arizona provides artist Lisa Danielle
with both subject and inspiration for her renditions of life and
culture of the American West. Proximity to Indian lands, prehistoric
ruins, and working ranches have, for over seventeen years, given
Lisa an intimate knowledge of Native American and cowboy life so
well portrayed in great detail in her paintings.
When abstract expressionism seemed to be
the favored direction, Carol found ways to include realism
while she manipulated the design, color, and technical knowledge to
suit her needs. Her palette has deepened and expanded, but her love
of realism has never wavered through numerous changes of subject
matter. She is an avid collector of American antiques and Native
American arts which she assembles into still life compositions. She
has a special kind of reverence for everything that she paints.
March 4-10
Western Art by Dustin Lyon, Hubert Wackermann and Linda Gulinson
Dustin Lyon invites all to step
back into a time when life offered a more genteel nature to those
living it. A quiet walk through the town square, a short trolley
ride home, or the quiet solitude of a Native American encampment are
just a few of the excursions this artist will take you on.
Though born and educated in Germany,
Hubert Wackermann is more than qualified to depict his favorite
subject matter: the North American Indian, his natural surroundings
and relevant wildlife. He became interested in the North and South
American Indians at an early age. Numerous trips to the United
States, Canada and Mexico in the early 70's provided opportunities
for research. Upon immigration to Canada in 1979, Wackermann lived
for a year on the Six Nations Iroquois Reservation in Southern
Ontario. After marriage, he and his wife moved to Puerto Rico where
the artist studied the Indians of the Caribbean area, the Caribe,
and Wackermann produced more than thirty paintings.
Linda paints primarily in oils,
seeking to reflect the feelings, emotion, and where relevant, the
interactions of people with animals. Linda has exhibited across
North America and has been the recipient of a number of awards. She
has collectors around the United States and Europe.
March 11-17
Linda Lee and Dusty Kinman, The Arizona Desert in Bloom
Linda Lee specializes in
paintings of the Arizona deserts in the springtime when the gorgeous
and fragrant arrays of wildflowers can be enjoyed. A closer look at
her work reveals the realism Lee has captured by spending the early
spring months each year in these areas both painting and researching
her subject matter.
After sufficient Spring rains, the desert
literally "comes alive" with a gorgeous and fragrant array of spring
wildflower’s! All of his paintings depict the desert during it's
most striking time of beauty. Never using a brush, he works strictly
with painting knives. Unlike most knife artists who have an
"impasto" style, using a heavy build up of paint, Dusty Kinman
endeavors to create as much detail as possible using the least
amount of paint. This results in crisp, clear, sunlit paintings
which invite the viewer to enter the scene and smell the flowers.
March 18-24
Ou Chujian, Impressionism from a Chinese Master Ou Chujian was born in Guang Zhou, China in 1950 and was classically trained as a realist painter. His educational background includes four years at the Guang Zhou Academy of Fine Art, The National Academy of Fine Art, China and extended study at the Paris Academy of Fine Art in France.
Ou Chujian is currently residing in the
United States and is a Professor of Art at the San Francisco Academy
of Art College. He is recognized as one of the most famous
contemporary realist artists of China.
March 25-31
New Landscapes by, Douglas Oliver, Eric Slayton and Jon McNaughton
The landscape images of Doug Oliver
are easy recognize. For more than two decades, Doug has been a
premier leader in providing some of the most dramatic landscapes
depicting the summer Arizona cloud formations.
Eric Slayton's bold brushwork
and dramatic colorization stem from a reaction to his history of
advertising illustration in his early career. He realized a person
aversion to photo-realism and sought to develop an intuitive
response to his subject matter.
Jon McNaughton is a rising
artist from Utah whose paintings are attracting the attention of
collectors across the country. Late evenings and stormy days are
frequent subject matter for this young artist. Jon's paintings can
be recognized for the rich color and chiaroscuro effects reminiscent
of the French Barbizon painter and American Tonalists of the 19th
century.
April 1-7
Native American Artist, Edison Cummings
Edison Is a Native American
Artist from the Navajo Nation. He is an Award Winning Oil Painter
and Silversmith. Edison studied at Arizona State University in
