Doug Oliver
The landscape images of Doug Oliver are easy to recognize. For more than two decades, Doug Oliver has been a premier leader in providing some of the most dramatic southwest landscapes in the contemporary art world. Signature skies and sweeping views of the Sonoran or Mojave deserts are his trademarks, but he is equally at home with the Golden Coast of California, the San Juan Mountain Range in Colorado, or Arizona's high country. His work interprets the raw landscape, usually vacant of any imprint of man. This freedom, this sense of being untouched, is perhaps what makes his paintings so appealing to the art collector.
Oliver holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Chouinard Art Institute, California Institute of the Arts, and Master of Arts degree from the University of Redlands, California. He and his wife Barbara have relocated to a new home and studio in northern Arizona overlooking national forest land.
His artworks are published in serigraph and poster form, and sold and distributed worldwide. Doug Oliver is most proud of his wide collector support and following, and being able to work at a craft he truly loves. His dream of creating canvases alive with atmosphere, mood and power, has been realized. The source of that inspiration, the great American landscape is unlimited – something that Doug will continue to see and discover.
In return for his good fortune Oliver donates a painting annually to the American Diabetes Association or similar worthy cause to assist his community and help mankind.
